There is a Llama in the Yarra Valley!
The Llama Cache is pretty straight forward. It's worth a little drive just to see this strange animal - and his friends! However extra incentive maybe the cute NEW swaps in the cache, the FTF coin or the thrill of completing a challenge at the site and winning one of the 2 Australian PathTags !
We found the Llama quite by accident... There's a lovely shallow area of river within a few hundred metres of The Llama Cache where we take our dogs for a dip in summer. As we parked the car the Geo Driver noticed an unusual animal, trying not to stand out in the paddock. Mr Llama is a classic Llama color, brown body with a white neck and head. His co tenants are 1 alpaca and 3 lovely creamy Long Horn cows/bulls? Certainly they are an odd group!
Llama are bigger then an Alpaca and smaller then a Camel. Their fleece is not as prized as an Alpaca as it is coarse and wirey. They do have a steadier temp, and are used as working stock in their native country (Peru & Chile) They can be trained as pack animals or even used for dragging harrows or a small cart.
The Llama Cache itself is quite a standard hide. We've put in pen, log and swaps (a small torch, Aussie keyring, Laser light, necklace and Gem Stones) There is also a cute Frog FTF coin.
And of course the challenge PathTags hanging in the tree!
The CHALLENGE Coin isn't for everyone, it's for those a little braver.. details inside the cache.
