Phoenix recently hosted the 2011 Baseball All*Star Game and Fanfest. I volunteered during the week and this cache is to commemorate the great time I had during this time.
This cache would be an easy park and grab IF you could find free parking in the area. You may need TOTTs. Difficulty is for the high muggle concentration on games days and difficulty in finding close parking. This could be an easy cache when riding the rails.
If you are not familiar with this area of town, you may want to go after this cache during daylight hours only.
When scouting a location for this All*Star cache, I noticed the interesting artwork to the west painted on the pavement in the nearby parking lot (see photo). You can still see remnants of this at the lot now. My alternate name for this cache would have been Heinz 57's mate, (Colonel Mustard). Note this cache is not intended to make a political statement in any way. I wanted to capture a part of our country's political history that may be lost someday, if replaced with a newer image. I love capturing unique images on Google Earth!
Contrary to what the street satellite image shows, this cache is not in the middle of the street. I took coordinates 4 times from different directions. It may be due to satellite bounce.
