Intersection of the PIUTE ATV trail and Horse Flat Canyone.
In 1991 I took my 8 year old daughter...my sister and her 8 year old daughter on this trail to put up signs for the ATV Jamboree in Fillmore. We stopped here to have lunch...as I was walking over to the platform (this platform must have been built by deer hunters years ago to put their tents on) to sit down I saw a hugh..hugh..hugh rattlesnake come out from under the platform. It had a diameter of 6 inches and was at least ten feet long...We left and never did stop to eat lunch that day. After telling some old timers about the size of the snake they said that it was probably a "MOUNTAIN RATTLESNAKE" which are known to grow to that size.
