This is the second in a series of caches placed by members of Boy Scout Troop 87 working on the Geocaching Merit Badge. It is also located along the Ice Age Trail that goes through the Hickory Hills Conservancy Area in Cross Plains.
Located close to the tread of the Ice Age Trail (no need to go down toward the gully). The trail itself was initially created in summer of 2009 as part of a Ice Age Mobile Skills Crew project as an extension of prior trail after the nearby prairie and woods access was donated to Village of Cross Plains. The prairie area was corn field through 2010, but IAT volunteers converted it back to a native prairie. The marked trails through the prairie and woods will take you very close to GZ. Hide about 30 feet from trail and not near edge of ravine. Be sure to cover back up with the natural cover. Access to the trail can be done from: 1) End of Hickory Hill St -- walk past the gate up the hill (but stay on the road) and look for the marked Ice Age Trail. Or, 2) Lewis St entrance to Ice Age Trail. Thank you to Mike Axon of Cross Plains Parks Dept for permission to place the cache.
