Christie Falls is a little known gem in the Kelowna area. The adventurous hike in is through a burnt forest and it is interesting to see the changes taking place. I placed a camouflaged Lock'n'lock cache close to the falls so more people are able to find them and appreciate the beauty of the area.
Directions to the parking waypoint are as follows:
From highway 97, follow Westside Road and turn left on Bear Main Forestry Road. At the 13 km marker turn right on Esperon. At the 24 km marker on Esperon (across from the dam) turn right onto Christie Main. At N50 05.954, W119 38.658 turn left onto a unnamed road. Parking is at the end of this road and the hiking path is clearly marked from here.
You will arrive at the top of the falls so look for the ropes at N50 07.285, W119 37.656 where you will descend the path to get a good view of the falls.
The roads are best driven on the weekend as there is active logging going on in the area.
The contents of the cache include:
A waterproof logbook and pen.
A I "heart" Fernie pin.
A "Sweet" lanyard
An emergency poncho to approach the falls on a windy day
A Canadian Geocoin
