Geocache Description:

Totem Madness.

The Totem poles you see from this cache were originally commissioned for Expo 88 and were created by artist Lyn Moore using a chainsaw on ironbark trunks. After Expo 88, the Southbank Corporation donated the Totem poles to the Botanic Gardens where they now stand as silent sentinels over the lake and its backdrop of paperbarks.

Special Note: Unfortunately the Totems fell victim to termites and have since been removed for safety reasons

This cache was placed as part of “K8’n’Co’s FTF Challenge 2011”

“FTF” honours go to:

Captain Terror and Gaz.

NB: Access to the gardens is only available between 8am - 5pm daily.
