Eglise Saint-Roch (ancienne chapelle du couvent)
Le couvent de Capucins fut construit à l’emplacement d’une chapelle dédiée à saint Marc et détruite à la demande de Sully.
The Capuchin convent was built on the site of a chapel dedicated to St. Mark and destroyed at the request of Sully.
Le couvent fut fondé en 1621 par Henri II de Bourbon, prince de Condé, et dédié en 1627. La façade orientale de l’église porte la date de 1623. Endommagé pendant le siège de Montrond en 1652, il fut en grande partie reconstruit en 1657 et modifié au cours du 18e siècle. Transformé en fabrique de canons pendant la Révolution, il fut ensuite aménagé en hôpital en 1799. L’église fut restaurée en 1867 et érigée en paroisse en 1876, sous le vocable de Saint-Roch.
The convent was founded in 1621 by Henry II de Bourbon, Prince de Conde, and dedicated in 1627. The eastern facade of the church is dated 1623. Damaged during the siege of Montrond in 1652, it was largely rebuilt in 1657 and amended during the18th century. Transformed into a gun factory during the Revolution, it was later converted into a hospital in 1799. The church was restored in 1867 and established as a parish in 1876 under the name of Saint-Roch.
