The tower offers excellent views of the Slocan Valley and some of the rocky peaks in Valhalla Park. The outhouse also has an excellent view into the Valhallas, with Gladsheim Pk, Mt. Dag, and Asgard Pk. being the most prominent.
There's a couple different ways to get to the cache. We turned off Hwy 6 at Ponderosa FSR, which is located a few hundred meters North of Lemon Creek. The road isn't very car friendly, but SUV's will have no problem. We drove a little less than 4km up the road until we couldn't go anymore and parked in an area that would hold 2 or 3 cars, although there's not much room to turn around.
From the parking area your GPS will tell you that the geocache is only 1.5km away - but the way up has long steep switchbacks that'll increase the distance to just over 5km to the tower. At the beginning, the slightly overgrown trail passes through a gully then joins the road leading up to the tower. The road hasn't been maintained in a few years. Also the last few hundred meters up to the lookout tower are the steepest and have lots of loose rocks. The observation tower is still open and the cache is placed a little over 100 meters past the tower. Bring plenty of liquids.
