Swampland at Fényes / Láperdõ Fényesnél
Tata is called as "the town of the waters". It has two larger and some smaller lakes and more than a hundred of springs.
From the most significant springs, the Fényes springs, situated at 1,5 km from the downtown, a slightly fizzy 21-22 C warm water rises up. The most beautiful of them got the name Fényes ("Shiny").
The area of Fényes springs used to be marshy for thousands of years. In the summer of 1747, Sámuel Mikovinyi, a great surveyor of his age at Maria Theresia's order drained the marshes. However, the original state of the Fényes springs and their neighborhood had been preserved, thanks to the abundantly spouting warm water. In the 1920s, the Fényes springs had a daily water output of nearly 120,000 m3.
In the 1960s, because of the increased water pumping of Tatabánya coal mining, the drying up of Tata springs has reached this area too. The last springs dried up in 1973. After the coal mining was stopped in this area, in about 2001, the springs slowly began to work again. Today, they have a total of about 28,000 m3/day output and it is increasing.
The area of Fényes springs has became a 30 acre nature reserve. There are 300 different species of plants living on the meadows between the springs, some of them are real curiosities.
Important: There is no pen in the cache, so bring your own. The cache is accessible outside the fenced area.
The area of the marshland has been fenced and a tourist path has been built there in 2014. You have to buy an entrance ticket if you wants to see the marshland and the springs.

Tatát a vizek városának is nevezik. Két nagy és több kisebb tóval, valamint több, mint száz forrással büszkélkedik.
A források közül a jelentősebbek a Fényes-források. A várostól másfél kilométerre Naszály község felé, a Fényes-forrásokból enyhén szénsavas, hidrokarbonátos és kénhidrogénes, 21-22 C-os hőmérsékletű víz tört a felszínre. A legszebb forrás a Fényes nevet kapta.
A Fényes-források területe évezredeken keresztül mocsaras volt. 1747 nyarán a kor nagy geodétája, Mikoviny Sámuel Mária Terézia rendeletére a mocsarakat lecsapolta, de a Fényes-források környéke - a bőven buzgó meleg víznek köszönhetően - továbbra is megmaradt eredeti állapotban. Az 1920-as években a Fényes-források napi vízhozama közel 120.000 m3 volt.
Az 1960-as években a tatabányai szénbányászat megnövekedett vízkiemelése miatt a tatai források elapadása elérte ezt a területet is. Az utolsó forrás 1973-ban apadt el. A szénbányászat megszűnte után, kb. 2001-ben, a források lassan újra elkezdtek működni. Ma már összesen közel 28.000 m3/nap hozammal rendelkeznek, ami folyamatosan nő.
A Fényes-források területe egy 30 ha-os természetvédelmi terület. A források közötti réteken ma is 300 fajta növény él, köztük ritkaságok is.
Fontos: Nincs toll a ládában, ezért hozd magaddal a sajátodat. A láda a bekerített területen kívül található.
A láperdőt körbekerítették és a területen egy tanösvényt építettek ki 2014-ben. Belépőjegyet kell vásárolnod, ha látni szeretnéd a lápot és a forrásokat.
