Geocache Description:

My aunt, Crazy Goat, was a passionate geocacher and an inspirational woman. She passed away in a car accident while geocaching on April 21st, 2012. This cache was originally hers, but now my family and I have taken over maintaining it. By visiting this cache, you are honoring her memory.

One in a series of caches placed in the Spring Run area of Weedville, PA.

When the offspring of the Foster clan were youngins, we would sit around the campfire at the old abandoned camp you will see after you find the On the Way to the Old Mill Witch Cache. Our parents would tell us ghost stories about the Old Mill Witch, a woman who cooked for the mill workers and was tragically killed in a suspicious accident. Was it really an accident? To make a long story short, we were told she haunted the hollow. No one has good family time like that anymore!

After you see the camp, follow the trail along the creek. If you are a fisherman, note this is a native stream. I have also placed a half dozen flies in this ammo container, just in case you run out. There is a lottery ticket and a path tag for the FTF. I hope you enjoy this area as much as I have.

You will pass an old orchard from the camp up to the old mill foundation. More than a few buck have been taken in this bottom. It is rich in my family's tradition. It would not be uncommon to come across bear or elk in this area as well. Always watch for snakes.

I would suggest you keep to the parking directions listed on the On the Way to the Old Mill Witch Cache. It is possible to bushwack down the mountain from the Foster's Run cache but its much easier to follow the parking instructions and take the trail. You will find the walk most pleasant and not real difficult. Certain times of the year you will encounter some mud on the trail. Don't wear your Sunday go to meeting shoes! Again, this leg of the Spring Run series is a great snowshoeing trek in the winter if you are suffering from cabin fever.

Congratulations to HOOTnOWL for the FTF.
