Freddy's Way Traditional Cache
trailrunner: Freddy's Way Geocache no longer exists.[:(] The Aboretum is still a great place to visit and the cache was just an opportunity to introduce folks to this great place. When I first placed the cache, admission was free. In the past couple years they began charging admission. It is still free on Tuesdays and many holidays.

At the North Carolina Arboretum - Nice place to visit, but they now
charge admission (The cache was originally placed when admission
was always free). However, Tuesdays are free admission! Many
holidays are also free admission!
Park in the Arboretum parking lot nearest 191 and the entrance to
the Blue Ridge Parkway, coordinates N35°30.072, W82°35.938. It is
possible to park in the main parking lot as well, though it's a
more scenic hike from the first lot. From the parking lot, walk
past the gate, over the stream and enter the trail to the right. At
the first intersection cross over the bridge. Enter the trail at
N35°29.972, W82°36.157. Walk this trail until you are within 100 ft
of the cache site. The cache is an ammo container. (Just changed
8/20/05 to keep the cache dry). This area is a popular place to
walk but the trail nearest the cache is a little less frequently
used. Please be discrete so the cache site is not revealed to just
anyone passing by, if other humans are encountered. Have fun and
please close the container back securely.
