Taro Pie Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

CanonShooters: Marie Calendars pie shop is gone, so we might as well stop "serving" Taro Pie.
It had a good, but somewhat troubled life.
Thanks to all the finders; apologies to all those who experienced problems.

Geocache Description:

Camo'd container. Small plastic box. May hold small items (TB?).
Parking is available in a nearby lot. No street parking is permitted.

Taro, a root vegetable, is a tropical plant that is native to southeast Asia. It is grown in pond fields in Hawaii, where it is known as lo?i in the Hawaiian language. Any who have visited Hawaii will be happy to be reminded of poi, which is the primary Ploynesian staple food that is made from the corm (root) of the taro plant. If you didn't taste poi when there, shame on you! For many, one taste is enough. :-)

In Japan it is called satoimo, or "village potato." So I guess this cache could be called "Potato Pie."

The reason for the pie name should be apparent when you visit the cache.

(The original container, which was a much better simulation of a "root", disappeared, hence this replacement container and log. Please return as found.)

Muggles abound nearby probably 24/7, but for the most part they will likely not be concerned with your presence. Fake a cell phone call or do a little stretching to cover for your geocaching activity. :-)
