Geocache Description:

MY FIRST ATTEMPT

After recently finding my one hundreth cache I decided that it was time to have a go in hiding a cache-

THIS IS THE RESULT

The Stella Power Stations were built between 1951 and 1954. Part of the stations stood on the site once used for the Blaydon Races. They were designed to burn 2000 tons of coal a day and 22 tracks of railways sidings were constructed to handle the quantity of coal required. The structures were pulled down in the 1980’s and were replaced by a large business and industrial park and in on the South by a housing estate

The cache is hidden just off the Newburn Riverside walkway which has easy access from several directions.

The area is very flat and relatively quiet with only the ocassional cyclist and fishmen for company
