Welcome to The
Kelowna Geocaching Club's First Annual Okanagan Cache Fest!!
Everyone is invited to attend this free, fun filled, all-day event.
Registration and Meet & Greet will start at 8am sharp in
Mission Creek Park (Posted Event Coordinates). Coffee &
Doughnuts will be provided (by donation). Don't forget to bring
your trackables to share/discover/trade while our GPX file is being
uploaded to your device. A printed book complete with cache
coordinates, attributes, and hints will also be handed out for all
who wish to have it.
Please be sure to Log your "Will Attend" with the amount
of people in your party on this cache page so the organizers know
how many books and supplies to bring.
The City of
Kelowna, the gateway to the Okanagan Valley. Situated in the heart
of the BC Interior, Kelowna is home to more than 20 unique
wineries, miles of beautiful parkland, and several sandy beaches
that provide wonderful opportunities for swimming, boating,
water-skiing, wind-surfing, and fishing. Even Kelowna's Main street
ends at the lake. There are over 450 existing geocaches in the area
with another 120 new caches being placed for this
occasion.
Once everyone has
met and is full from coffee & doughnuts, we'll have a short
opening announcement about the festivities and then we'll start
heading out for a fun filled caching day followed by fun and
exciting prizes! Below is an area map of the event site. Turn off
of Springfield Rd. into the Mission Creek Parking lot and your
there.
The Event
will start to wrap-up at 5:30 with a prize draw at 6pm. You have to
be present to win a prize, so make sure your back at Mission Creek
Park by 6pm. You can win a prize one of two ways:
1. Take your
chances with the door prize ticket, or
2. Collect "points"
from event caches to earn yourself a better prize.
Prize donations are
appreciated as more people will get prizes.

Please remember to
bring enough water and snacks with you on the trails to prevent any
issues that may arrise. Your dogs are welcome in Mission Creek Park
on leash only. Use your discretion when choosing which caches to
bring your dog on.
