There are multiple paths to the cache(ammo box). The route I took was 2-1/4 miles long and may not be the best way there. I did stay on a road/path for the entire distance however. During spring runoff the cache site may be inaccessible because of high water. When you reach the road spillway(the short segment of road fortified with big rocks) if water is barring your way, then you should return to your car as there isn't a way around.
