Geocache Description:

Lovely views nearby of the hamlet of Stainsby, renound for it's festival, and over to the National Trust owned Hardwick Hall.

"Field of Dreams" is the name given to the site of the music festival that is held in the nearby hamlet of Stainsby each July.

The cache is located close to the festival site, though is accessable at all times of the year.

The village is located near the to the National Trust property of Hardwick Hall. In the hall's estate is Stainsby Mill, a fully working 19th century water mill.
The village was known as Steinesbei in the Domesday survey where it was listed together with several manors including Beighton and Sutton Scarsdale under the lands of Roger de Poitou. It was surrounded to the north by a semi-circular moat with banks and ramparts, approximately eight feet in depth. Some of this still remains visible, although in a much reduced form. This is known as "The Earthwork", and was the original site of Stainsby Folk festival in 1969.

With lovely views of nearby Hardwick Hall (if you ignore the M1 that runs through the valley), it's a lovely corner of North East Derbyshire.

** Please note ** The cache is located FROM the road, on the same side as the festival site. There is NO NEED to access the fields. Please DO NOT climb any gates or enter the field.
If you have Harwick Hall and the motorway on the same side of the road as you are searching, then you'll be on the correct side.
