This the "Going To Grandma House" (GTGH )puzzle cache. To find this cache you need to gather information from the other "GTGH" caches. Note: I have the difficultly/terrain ratings on the high side due to the number of caches that need to be found and the distances involved.
In the before time, the time before the 416, we would drive to Gananoque on the 15 or 16 to visit my grandparents. Both were busy and dangerous roads at the time. My Oma (Grand Mother) showed us this shortcut so we could get there quicker and safer. Now my parents live down there and we take the kids to see Grandma and Grandpa regularly. With the 416 it is quicker to take the highway but sometimes we take the back way for a change.
The GTGH cache series will take you on this route. Were the caches are placed guides you on our exact route (with a couple of small detours to grab caches). The caches are fairly simple but this trek is about the journey and the challenge of finding the puzzle cache.
To find this cache you need to visit the other caches in the GTGH series. In each of the GTGH caches, there is at least one piece of the puzzle. While you don't need to visit them all, you need to visit as many as necessary to gather the co-ordinates for the first stage of this puzzle. Ideally you start near Ottawa @ (visit link) and drive the series all the way to Gananoque but you can pick them up individually until you get the required info. Each co-ord number appears at least twice during the series, I just scattered them randomly as I went.
CHECK EACH 'GTGH' CACHE CAREFULLY OR YOU MIGHT MISS SOME REQUIRED INFO. YOU ARE WARNED, DON'T BLAME ME IF YOU MISS SOME.
Take the information you find and solve the following.
Locate the historic plaque in the park located at N4A BC.DEF, W7G HI.JKL . You will be near my parents former summer 'home'.
To find the cache:
-add up the numbers (not the DR) in the year the 'action' happen and add that to the North puzzle solution co-ords
-add up the numbers (not the DR) in the year the person died, square that number and add it to the West puzzle solution co-ords
