Geocache Description:

Small - some traders. Parking is across the Highway. You do not need to climb down the embankment.

North of Metaline Falls the river enters a canyon. Before being flooded by Boundary Dam's reservoir, there was a place within Z Canyon where the canyon walls were only 18 ft apart.
It was said "The river had to turn on its side to get through!" LOL!

This spot is now under 200 ft of water!

The first bridge over the river was a wooden toll bridge at Metaline Falls - built in 1920.

I took coord readings on multiple days (with multiple readings) - so let your GPS get you close, then use your Geo-sense to get the smiley - and allow the history of this place fire your imagination!

On a more current note - When they filmed the movie "The Postman" - this is the town that they used.
