Geocache Description:

Welcome to the Coexist Series Power Trail. This series is for educational and historical purposes only, to teach you about various mythological Deities and symbology across the globe.

The Chacana (Quechua for 'four steps') or Andean Cross is a recurring symbol in the native cultures of the Andes and later in the territories of the Inca Empire of Tawantinsuyo. Its shape is a square cross, staggered, with twelve points.

The symbol itself is a reference to the Sun, although its form, which suggests a pyramid with steps on all four sides also possesses a higher meaning, pointing out the connection between what is low and what is high, the earth and sun, man and the Divine. Chakana are therefore understood to not only be an architectural or geometrical symbol, but also represents the term "ladder to the highest (Heavans)."

Chacanas can be found in various works of architecture, stone carvings, textiles, ceramics and sculptures throughout the Andes, anywhere that the Inca Empire had influence. The oldest known Chakana is from the Gale District of Pomalca, and dates back to 4,000 to 5,000 years.

The Chakana, once thought to be a random geometric design, is now known to be the result of astronomical observation. Inca legand tells that "The old men brought heaven to earth", and this was represented by the Chacana, which contains components that explain a conflicting view of the universe, including concepts such as masculine and feminine, heaven and earth, above and below, energy and matter, as well as time and space. Archeological matmaticians tell us that the shape of the Chakana contains in its geometry the concept of Pi.

Disclaimer:
Do not approach this series lightly. If this were only a 500' bushwhack, I would call it hellish. The roots will trip you, the branches will shred you and poke your eyes, and the insects will consume you. But it's not 500'. It's over 12 bloody miles! I highly recommend you bring snake boots, lots of water, long pants, long sleeve shirt, lots of water, good hat, pokey stick, lots of water, spare everything, bug spray, lots of water, writing utensils, cell phone, lots of water.
Did I mention bring lots of water?

You may find a laminated clue slip in this cache. If you do, you might want to solve the riddle. This will help you locate the Gaia puzzle cache nearby. Please leave clue slips in the caches you find them in.
