The Forest Dept has restricted Many FRs in the Kaibab Forest due to fire risk. This FR is not restricted.
Recently graded, this road is Steep! Make sure your brakes work well for the trip down. It also has several good sized speed or drainage humps along the way.
For those who’d like to hike it. There is a nice pull-out, camping spot at
N 35° 19.022, W 112° 03.056
(assuming someone isn’t already camping there. Which is how we first came across this location) We hiked up the side of the hill to the reflector screen, walked down the road to FR 74 and back to the camp site; less than a 2 mile hike in all. We thought it would be a fun little quad ride and cache hide up here too. Came back on the quads to place the cache. As with most hill tops, Nice View!
PLEASE, respect the terrain. Only one light weight lava rock must be moved to reveal GC. A Small screw top container. Please make sure lid is on secure and replace as found.
