Geocache Description:

Bullanginya Lagoon - Other Side Of The Lagoon 1

Welcome to my 79th cache hide...

Another cache along the Bullanginya Lagoon. This time i have placed a couple in the Barooga State Park in the area between the lagoon and the Murray River. I pretty much just went for a drive with the kids and this is where i ended up. Last time i was down here i was not able to access this far into the park, due to flood damage.

Although this cache is not placed directly on the main part of the lagoon, this waterway is classed as part of the lagoon. I have two other caches placed further east on the main part of the lagoon.

A bit of background information on the lagoon. The lagoon itself when full is covers an area of approximately 8 HA. The lagoon starts at an elevation of 128m and ends at an elevation of 116m flowing into the Murray River. The Bullanginya Lagoon drops around 12.2m over its 13.6km total length.

Nothing really special about the spot, except the kids picked it, as a nice place to stop. We had a maccas lunch here, and a short break while the kids placed the cache, and I took coords. Below is a pic of the kids near the lagoon. There is a good view of it from here, and it would make a great camping spot.

At the time of placing the cache, the tracks were quite dry, and a regular car would access the area. But a bit of rain, and that would change. Don't say that i didn't warn you....

The cache is a 200ml Sistema container painted black. It is not a hard hide. Once again, have fun and be careful with the kiddies near the water. As always in the Aussie bush, BE CAREFUL AND ON THE LOOKOUT FOR SNAKES, ESPECIALLY WITH THE KIDS. Good luck and importantly, have fun.
