This cache is in the White Mountain Wilderness at an elevation of 9,380 feet on a beautiful knoll north of Argentina Peak.
This cache is in the White Mountain Wilderness at an elevation of 9,380 feet on a beautiful knoll north of Argentina Peak. It can be reached from the Argentina Canyon Trail or Turkey Creek Trail, then walking towards the highest spot. I often spot elk up here in the high meadows, though the day the geohikers placed the cache, all the elk were down along Bonito Creek, because the forest has been closed until yesterday due to extreme fire danger. By the time we got back down, the valley was beginning to fill up with tent and RV campers, so I think the elk will soon return to the high country. Thanks to Mr Waldo for carrying the ammo can and Nanogoteeo for her high spirts in the high country.
