Enjoy a bike ride along the LaCrosse River Trail between West Salem and Bangor. You will be looking for a smaller preform tube down a slight incline that may be a bit slippery when snowy or rainy.
This section of trail from State Highway 162 to where the Interstate crosses the bike trail is brushed and maintained by the West Salem TableRock Riders snowmobile club, so what better way to highlight their work than to place a cache on their trail section. Now, I know you will say, but doesn't the DNR brush and mow?? Possibly.. if the funds allow they may mow or replace signs but a majority of the work on the bridges and tree growth is by the volunteers of the local snowmobile clubs. So as you ride or hike along here enjoying the tree tunnels remember that the growth would be way lower and closer in if it were not for the local club.
No need to go near the railroad tracks!!
