I used to walk by this location twice, nearly every day on my way to middle school. The two restaurants on this corner have been there for as long as I can remember.
Jennie F. Snapp middle school serves the entire Union-Endicott district for grades 6-8. When I attended there, rumors abounded that it was constructed on the old grounds of a tannery or a dump, which causes it to sink a few millimeters into the ground every few years.
There were a number of interesting qualities of the school, such as an eerie and underused gymnasium on the second floor, which had a locked door leading up to the clock tower in it.
Since then the school has been drastically renovated. I have not been inside it since I attended there, so if anyone has any pictures to share, feel free to post them here. The school is down the road from this cache.
