Getting in trouble with the law is no fun, but doing community service to get charges dropped is a great way to keep your record clean.
Recently, i was told that i would have to do some work for a non-profit organization because of my light criminal activities. I thought about how i could possibly make the time beneficial to others and also fun for myself, and contacted the nice folks from Weantinoge. I asked if i could do some work for them cleaning brush and litter from the trails, and they asked me if i could also hide some more geocaches in thier preserves. Of course i can do that! You didnt even have to ask!
So this cache {and many new others} are the result of my "punishment"! :) Regular sized lock-n-lock, minimal bushwacking required, and a fantastic view. Dont forget to visit the other caches while youre here!
This trail has both the steepest climb (630 Vertical Feet) and the most dramatic vistas (Catskill Mountains 35 miles west and Taconic Range where NY, CT, and MA meet) of any Weantinoge preserve. Weantinoge has worked very hard since 1982 to protect areas outside Macedonia State Park including tracts in New York.
Boots, a walking stick, and plenty of fluids are highly recommended.
For any problems on this this trail, call the Macedonia State Park Manager at 860-927-3238.
