One warm and muggy evening in the middle of summer, two geocachers, named lindsychris, along with Baby Rae, headed out to the trail to replace "DarkPink 07Z likes to find caches...1000 down!" As logs on that cache show, we had looked for it about a week earlier and found a pile of geoflauge, but no cache, and we were confident it was missing.
As it turns out, on our second visit, Chris found the original ammo can safe and sound in it's intended hiding spot.
Now what? We thought? We already had the ammo can in the stroller, fully loaded ready to be found.
This cache is the answer to that "now what?" question.
The 50 cal. ammo can is hidden a short distance off of the Montour/Arrowhead trail. Closest parking is at Brush Run. Follow your GPS until it points straight into the woods. There is a tiny path that leads down to the creek and then back up the other side. The terrain is a 2.5 on a dry day, as there is a small creek that needs crossed once. On a wet day, the first part could get a bit more interesting, but nothing too difficult.
