Geocache Description:

Seeing a juniper tree always reminds me of the Donovan Leitch song, "Jennifer Juniper". This cache came to mind while humming the song and seemed like a nice way to introduce others to this folk-rock troubador from the 1960s.

Unfortunately, this hide is *not* in a Juniper tree, hence the title. Has nothing to do with Jennifer, either!

Starting as an itinerant musician, Donovan continued a career that has stretched to 45+ years. He created acoustic hits in 1965 with Catch The Wind and Colours, and created his own version of Buffy Sainte Marie’s Universal Soldier, a protest anthem.

For three straight years in the late-1960s, Donovan scored a string of eleven Top 40 hits in a row; these included Mellow Yellow, Sunshine Superman, Epistle To Dippy, There Is A Mountain, Wear Your Love Like Heaven, Hurdy Gurdy Man, Jennifer Juniper, Lalena, Atlantis, and Riki Tiki Tavi. He collaborated with and influenced The Beatles' guitar styles and sang with Pete Seeger, Joan Baez, and Bob Dylan, as well as the Rolling Stones' Brian Jones and Led Zeppelin's Jimmy Page.

Listen closely, and you'll hear sound bites and snippets of his music in automobile, telecomm, IT and vacation resort television advertising.

Parking can be found nearby the cache with care, and it can also be accessed on foot or by bicycle at all times. Pets on leash okay, but be responsible and clean up after them.
