Geocache Description:

This cache was originally part of the Maryland Muncipal League Geotrail.

The MML Geotrail has come to an end and the coin is no longer available. We thank you for participating and look for a new MML geocaching project in the future.....

This replaces the Hampstead MML cache.

The town of Hampstead has given permission for the placing of the cache.

 Between 1736 and 1738, Robert Owings was assigned to “cut a new road as Christopher Gist had marked it” south from Connewago (now Hanover, Pennsylvania) to a point about halfway to Fort Garrison in Baltimore County. The village of Spring Garden became a stage-line stop on the new road and later became the town of Hampstead. The first settlers to the area were English immigrants who made their way west from the Port of Philadelphia. They were followed by Scots and Germans.

Hampstead has developed from a sleepy, farming community to a modern town of about 4,300 residents. Community activities center around the town’s numerous organizations and schools—Hampstead Day, the Christmas Village, and school events in August.

Hampstead is committed to retaining its small-town atmosphere and cherished quality of life even as it implements its innovative Main Street Revitalization Plan. As major elements of the plan, the town has renovated an old bank building on Main Street as the new police station and was instrumental in the conversion of the Old Elementary School into 88 senior apartments. With the completion of the Hampstead bypass, Hampstead’s goal is economic development in the Main Street corridor and bringing community back into the downtown area.

Hampstead Thanks You for Visiting

This is a 2 part multi and the final is a small sandwich size lock-n-lock. I've revised the coordinates to make it a little different. The coordinates will still take you to the Hampstead Train Station. Look around, you'll have to gather some new information to find the new final.

You'll be standing next to the Hampstead Train Station and a rather large object. On the large object, there is a 4 digit number-LMNO. There is a small section of railroad the large item sits upon. It has PQ railroad ties under the rails.

The Final Coordinates- N 39° 3A.BCD W 076° 5E.FGH
Where-
A=O-L, B=Q-P-L-N, C=M-N, D=O-P, E=O-Q, F=Q-L-N, G=N-P-L, H=M-Q

If you found this cache before, feel free to seek this one out, find it and sign the log.
