Hike down a forgotten trail following Florabella Creek.
The cache is hidden at the end of a dead end trail. As this is a dead end track, it doesn't get the regular walkers like Florabella Pass gets.
Getting There:
There are a number of ways to get to the start of the dead end track.
1. Florabella Pass - starting at the end of Florabella Street.
2. Ross Crescent.
3. Behind Blaxland Library, and following Pippa's Pass until it meets up with this track.
Track start:
The start of the dead end track is at: S33 44.268 E150 35.889. There is no other way in or out. The gorge becomes very steep with sheer cliffs. Don't attempt to find another way out.
The trail:
This trail doesn't get the regular traffic and becomes faint and non-existent at times. If you look closely at the OpenStreetMap you will see it exists. I recommend adding OpenStreetMap data to your GPS if you can. Otherwise, follow these instructions:
As soon as you start on the dead end track, it swings to the south and follows the creek downstream. Stay of the left hand side and keep following it. At times you will have to walk through ferns and trust it is there.
The track will end at a really rocky patch. Cross the creek and rejoin the trail back on the left hand side at S33 44.504 E150 35.762.
You wont have to stray too far from the trail to find the cache.
