***MY FIRST HIDE***
This cache is located in Playa Santa (Holy Beach) in the municipality of Guánica. This beach is one of the most popular in Southern Puerto Rico. I would always go to this beach with my high school friends and so did my father before me (a couple of centuries ago).
In the times of my father, and probably way before that, on the extreme right of the beach (looking towards the water) there was the statue of The Virgin and an arch. Today, only part of the arch is still there; nothing is left of the statue.
It is not clear to me, as I write this note, whether the beach received its name because of the statue and arch or the statue and arch were built after the beach already had its current name.
The cache is located in the area where the statue and arch were originally located. The remains of the arch can be seen from the shore but to get there you have to walk through a somewhat dangerous scree, as the water also gets deeper near the arch. This is why I decided to give “terrain 3/5”. It is not recommended to bring children because of the dangerous location.
You are looking for a pill container inside a Zip-Lock bag. It contains a pencil and a wristband for the FTF.
The view of the ocean from this spot is beautiful and so is the breeze. This is a perfect spot to go and relax and take some pictures.
Hope you guys enjoy it!
