In India there is a saying “Never ask river’s origin and Sadhu’s name”. The reason is look at them now; how divine, devoted, loving, and impartial and taking care of everyone who come in vicinity they are. True a river was just a stream in the beginning and Sadhu (saint) a layman, don’t disrespect them now but respect them for what they are now.

Hiranyakeshi is the river and Hiranyakeshi is also a goddess, a small statue of her and Shivling (Lord Shiva) is here by the side from where the stream of water is coming under the mountain. A small tank is constructed where water comes in and then flows out. The water is there all through year and is very clear. You can take bath or swim in it. About 4’ to 6’ deep 25’x25’ size. This place is just 3km inside from the main Amboli Ghat Road. You can bring and park your vehicles here. You walk further over a small hanging bridge on a spring and 500mtrs to reach Hirnyakeshi on paved path. Jungle around, calm & quite, foggy in Mansoon. Tourists come here in vacations and holidays. You can get cab in Amboli Village.

Due to Mountain on one side and Trees I was unable to take accurate location on Geocache. However, I took the GPS location just about 15’ away and that is accurate. From here at your eye level the cache is visible 8’ above ground under a small piece of flat red tile. Just climb one step high and you can reach it.

Caution: During Mansoon there are landslides in this Ghat Section, be careful and confirm with local people if the Ghat is open for traffic.
Take a dip, drink a sip and look for my cache!
