Cache is a clear container near one of the trees planted in
Reforest the Bluegrass 2002.
In 2002 hundreds of Lexington area residents joined together to
plant thousands of saplings in what is now Wellington Park. This
helped stabilize the bank of the Elkhorn creek and improve the
water quality. Today many of the trees are over 20 feet tall and
the banks of the creek are well protected.
Reforest the Bluegrass 2002 was considered to be a great success
and annual RFB events have been held in the Spring ever since.
