Die Bronzeplastik eines rastenden Pilgers auf dem Jakobusweg lädt zu einer kurzen Pause und Erfrischung am kühlen Nass ein. Parkmöglichkeit direkt nebenan. Der Cache ist nicht bei der Skulptur.
A sculpture of a pilgrim resting near a small fountain on the Way of St James. You can park next to the sculpture. The cache is a few meters away from the pilgrim sculpture.

Am 24.07.2011 wurde die von Werner Löwe geschaffene Pilgerfigur durch Bischof Wanke (Bistum Erfurt) eingeweiht. Mit der Pilgerfigur knüpfen Uder und der Arbeitskreis Eichsfelder Jakobusweg an alte Tradition an.
Im Mittelalter führte die Heidenstrasse von Leipzig nach Köln als Heerweg durch Uder. Auf diesem Weg pilgerten zahlreiche Menschen nicht nur nach Santiago de Compostela, sondern auch nach Köln und Aachen. Von hier sind es 2.407 km nach Santiago de Compostela (siehe auch: (visit link) ).
On sunday, 2011/07/24, the sculpture by the artist Werner Löwe was inaugurated by bishop Wanke (Diocese Erfurt). With this sculpture Uder and the Working Committee for the Camino de Santiago (Way of St. James) in the Eichsfeld area want to remember and continue old traditions.
In medieval times Uder was part of the Heidenstrasse linking Leipzig with Cologne via Uder, a military road, where also many pilgrims travelled to Cologne, Aachen or Santiago. From here it is 2.407 km to Santiago.
