To find the cache, you'll need the clue found in the clue bottle hidden in the clue stump. The listed coordinates will take you right to clue stump, right alongside the Oregon Coast Trail. You can get to the clue stump from either the top of the trail near the Whaleshead Beach Road or from the bottom near the restrooms at the beach picnic area. Look behind the clue stump and you'll find the clue bottle hidden underneath. In the clue bottle, you'll find a Molokai Pathtag. You'll need the number on the back of the pathtag for your clue to finding the cache. Please be sure to replace the pathtag and bottle in the clue stump, hiding it well. Please note that the clue bottle has been muggled twice before and I've replaced it each time. Please be sure you return it to its hiding place and that the lid is on securely. Please hide it well so the casual hiker doesn't see it. OK, now for your treasure hunt: You've found the number on the back of the pathtag, right? Subtract the number 4330382 from the number on the pathtag. The answer will be a number less than 10. Call it "x". Now wander down the trail from the clue stump and you'll see LOTS of big trees. Some are BIG! Think BIG! Count the number of BIG trees on the LEFT of the trail. Stop when you get to the #x BIG tree. The cache is within 8' of the #x BIG tree. You are looking for a plastic bottle with lots of stuff inside. It starts off with a calculator, an address book, a glue stick, a Tasmanian Devil straw, a toy car, a dry Fuzzy, some light switch covers, and we'll start a Travel Bug on its way as well.
