Bridge to Bridge
Caches
10 kilometres separates the 2 bridges on Old Coast Road that
provide access to the island created by the Dawesville Cut.
This is a series of caches accessible from the bike paths on either
side of Old Coast Road between the bridges (and a little bit
beyond). The caches vary from nanos to ammo boxes and all
things in between, whatever is appropriate to the location.
There are also a number of other caches easily accessible from
these bikes path so seek them out also.

Officially known as the Mandurah Estuary Bridge, it was
constructed as part of the Bicentenial Roads project during 1885
and 1986 and opened on the 18th October 1986 by the then Premier of
WA, the Hon Brian Burke, JP, MLA.
It was the first incrementally launched box girder bridge
construction in Australia and had a significant impact on the
traffic flow through Mandurah. Prior to the bridge being
opened all traffic flow south had to go through the centre of
Mandurah and over the "Old Bridge". Long weekends and
especially Easter and Christmas saw queues of vehiles many miles
(and kilometers) long and delays of many hours as vehicles snaked
their way over the bridge and along Mandurah Terrace.
This
Cache
This cache is on the walkway under the bridge and is accessible
in a wheelchair. You cannot access cache this from the main road,
so park at the parking waypoint given for safe access. The
GPS was showing max 8m accuracy when we set this as its under the
roadway. If all else fails use the hint.
The cache is a small magnetic key container with log only.
