Geocache Description:

Crafty micro cache which could be done as a quick dash and cache as its close to the road.

Who is Stanley Jackson I hear you say! Well he was the ashes winning cricket captain of England in 1905, and opened the cricket ground nearby back in 1893. This is now used by Welton and Brough Cricket Club, who train or play on here most evening during the summer months.

Stanley Jackson played 309 first class matches for Cambridge University and 20 times for England.

He marked the 5 match ashes series scoring 492 runs at an average of 70.28 with his highest test score of 144 not out at Headingley and bowled 67.5 overs to take 13 wickets for 201 at an average of 15.46.

Stanley Jackson died on 9th March 1947, and both Stanley and his wife were laid to rest at the cemetery just behind the hedge nearby.
