Willkommen beim Radel Power Trail
in den Westlichen Wäldern.
Der Naturpark Westliche Wälder südwestlich von Augsburg umfasst
ein ca. 1200 qkm großes Gebiet und wird umgrenzt von den Flüssen
Wertach bzw. Schmutter im Osten, Mindel im Westen und der Donau im
Norden.
Mit weniger als 100 Einwohnern je Quadratkilometer ist der
Naturpark ähnlich dünn besiedelt, wie der Bayerische Wald. 45
Prozent der Fläche sind mit Wald bedeckt und jede Minute wächst
hier etwa ein Kubikmeter Holz hinzu.
Durch den Naturpark führen über 2.000 Kilometer markierte Wander-
und Radwanderwege in einer naturnahen hügeligen
Kulturlandschaft.
Und hier die Fakten zum RPTrail:
- Die komplette Runde beträgt ca. 80 km und es sind dabei ca 2000
m Höhendifferenz zu überwinden.
- Die Strecke kann nur zu Fuß oder
besser mit dem Fahrrad (Trecking- oder
Mountain-Bike) gemacht werden.
- Es gibt verschiedene ausgewiesene Parkplätze. Es kann aber an
jeder beliebigen Stelle angefangen und alle ‘normalen’
RPTrail Dosen unabhänig voneinander gesucht werden.
- Die Dosen sind so 'klein', dass kein Platz für TB's und
Tauschgegenstände ist.
- Wer Aufkleber für das Logbuch verwendet: Ein Logbuchfeld ist
ca. 3,6 x 1,4 cm (B*H) groß. Bitte nur ein Feld benutzen.
- Alle Dosen des Trails sind ohne Sonderausrüstung zu machen.
Evtl. muss man etwas klettern oder kriechen , welches aber bestimmt
ohne T5-Ausrüstung geht (T-Wertungen beachten !)
- Wie im Wald zu erwarten, sind die meisten Verstecke typische
Waldverstecke. Da die Koords doch springen, haben wir für viele
Caches Spoilerbilder oder eindeutige Hints angefügt, damit Ihr
pfleglich mit der Natur umgehen könnt.
- Da die Gegend Jagdgebiet ist, sollten die Dosen tagsüber
gesucht werden und nicht in der Dämmerung oder nachts.
- Nur für die Bonusdosen müsst Ihr dann eine gewisse Anzahl der
Dosen gefunden haben.

We like to offer you a warm welcome to the power cycling trail
in the “Nature Park Western Woods”. The Nature Park is
located in the south-west of Augsburg, comprises an area of
approximately 1,200 square kilometers and is enclosed by the rivers
Wertach and Schmutter (east), Mindel (west) and the Donau
(north).
With less than 100 inhabitants per square kilometer, the area
isn’t very populated, just like the Bavarian Forest. About 45
percent of the area is covered by forest and about one cubic meter
of wood goes every minute! There are more than 2,000 kilometres of
well marked hiking and biking trails in this natural, slightly
hilly countryside.
Here are some facts about the power trail:
- The trail has an overall length of about 80 kilometres and It
offers an altitude difference of about 2000 m.
- You can either ride with a bike or hike on this trail -
entering the Nature Park with any motor driven vehicles is strictly
prohibited.
- There are several marked parking lots. You can start the trail
at any point of your choice. All Traditional Caches can be found
separately by all others.
- The containers are quite small - there is no space to hold
Geocoins, Travelbugs or any other swag.
- For those who uses printed labels for logging: A single log
field has the dimension of approximately 3.6 x 1.4 cm (w x h). We
kindly ask you to use one log field only!
- There is no need to carry any special equipment - all caches
can be reached without T5-climbing gear. Nevertheless it may be
necessary to climb or crawl, but as already mentioned without any
T5-gear. Have a closer look at the T-rating.
- Not surprisingly, you can expect hiding places which are mostly
typical for forests. Due to the fact that there may be some
inaccurate coordinates, we’ve added some spoilerpic’s
and hints. This is to protect the nature against unnecessary
searching - so please be careful with our nature.
- Some regions of the “Western woods” are hunting
areas. We strongly ask you to search only during the day and take a
break from searching from dusk till dawn.
- There will be some additional “Bonus-Caches”. For
each of them you have to find the belonging Traditional Caches to
collect the bonus numbers.
