Geocache Description:

I've been told it's time I hold an event, so here it is...

After 6 years of caching I figured it's about time I tried my hand at hosting an event. There aren't many events (if any) held in Cass County so come on out and meet your fellow cachers and afterward spend some time caching Russ Forest and the surrounding areas.

Saturday, September 17th from 10:00-12:00 or later if you so desire, I won't make you leave.

Posted coords will take you to the shelter where we will be meeting, this place isn't normally full and there should be plenty of room for whatever size crowd shows up. There is also a nearby playground for the younger cachers. If there is already a group in this shelter we will meet in the alternate shelter in additional waypoints. I plan to provide doughnuts, first come, first serve. I will probably have a cooler of water as well. I will also be raffling off some goodies including lanyards and a Migo/Mygo geocoin as well as some other stuff.

Russ Forest is a 580 acre forest/park located just inside Cass County MI with miles and miles of trails, picnic facilities and a playground for the kids.There will be 15 brand new caches in the Russ Forest area for you to hunt! These caches are all smalls or larger, there will be some "interesting" hides that may require some special equipment. Come prepared! Bring your hiking boots and be prepared for a variety of terrain!
