Geocache Description:

This is the cache we have talked about since we started. This is an old cemetery that has seen much abuse and neglect over the years. Part of our reason for wanting to place one here was to show how we, as communities, need to respect and care for our cemeteries. Get on your township trustees to spend the money necessary to make sure they are maintained. And, of course, always leave them nicer than how we found them.

While here, check out the grave of John Duckwall, a veteran of the War of 1812. He was present at the Battle of Detroit and Hull's subsequent surrender. Many of these graves are very old, so make sure you look at the interesting and, sometimes, very intricate headstones. Be very careful walking, as their are many broken headstones, tree roots, and sinkholes.
