'Wier'd Falls Traditional Cache

thetennants: Time to lay this one to rest. Thanks to all who took the time to find it over the years. We were planning to replace in a slightly offset position but we think we'll leave it for fresh blood.

Geocache Description:

Container changed to bison

Heywood town centre may not have much to boast about but the Roch Valley is a veritable paradise, running all along the north side of town, rich in woodland, wildlife and Sites of Biological Importance.

Dotted about are the slowly disappearing remains of some of the district's older factories, now largely lost to nature and already forming picturesque ruins.

This is one of our favourite places where we come and walk as a family in all seasons and weathers. There is so much to see whenever you come. This spot is a wonderful place to watch dragonflies from, although there are many different types of wildlife to watch.

You may struggle with a pushchair (a kissing gate at one end of the valley, and a narrow metal post ostacel at the other end) and I would sadly say that it is inaccessible in a wheelchair (sorry).

Parking is available on street at Cherwell Avenue and Peel lane (please be considerate to local residents). It is a short but picturesque walk from both these roads using well trodden and distinct paths.
