Geocache Description:

This cache replaces the Mr. Roadshow and Bailey Avenue cache which used to be at this spot. It was a fairly evil cache that was camoed very well by ample plant growth and shadows.

Then Caltrans came by and cut away, then poisoned, all the plant life here. It must have been a very effective poison since it's a year later and absolutely nothing is growing on the shoulder or on the embankment.

It reminds me of a very toxic chemical called Agent Orange that the U.S. used in Viet Nam during the war to kill the jungle growth and provide clear fields of view. I served in the Viet Nam war and from where I was stationed you couldn't see a living bush or tree for miles. Of course, that may have been because I was stationed on the USS Enterprise out in the South China Sea.

The USS Enterprise (CVN-65) is the only warship from the Viet Nam war still on active duty. The Big E is the oldest ship still serving on active duty and the second oldest ship still commissioned in the U.S. Navy after the wooden hulled USS Constituion.

Since the original cache was left exposed and I wanted to get it off the ground and away from whatever chemical they used, I've replaced it in a more traditional hide style.
