Geocache Description:

The village of Punta Cuchillo stretches along the water from the Paquera ferry landing to Punta Coral. Well, the road only goes half way so the people living furthest out only travel by boat. It is a tiny little fishing village with a pulperia (local kiosk) and a primary school (with 5-8 kids).

La poza is a small natural pond in a river that comes down from a natural spring. Only recently the road was made and then the village also got municipal water. La poza used to be a gathering area for the people that live here. The women often washed clothes in the very clean water while the kids played in the dam.

This cache is located between the road and the pond and is the fifth cache in my series of “My Favorite Places around where I live”. And what make this one of my favorite places is the clear refreshing water in the pond and the history; the pond is so small and yet it was such an important place for the village until recently.

The cache is a tube containing only the log. You have to look in holes.

NB! I live just down the road from this cache, so please stop by and say hi. Ask for Vigdis (Vicky) and Thomas (Los Noruegos).
