Here is a series of caches placed along the old Inter Urban line. In it glory days this rail line connected Benton Harbor, Berrien Springs, Niles, St Marys and South Bend. The coming of the automobile and better highways made the operation now longer profitable so in 1929 the line was discontinued. The tracks have been removed and right away abandoned but many parts of line are still much as they were when it was in operation. Officially the land reverted back to original owners so some is now lawn or farm. But much is simple cuts or grades with trees and brush. Please respect private property and bring bug spray.
