This cache is an ammo can hidden around the dam at Moore's Creek. Other than the hike in, it should be an easy find. While there, enjoy the resevoir, mountains, and views.
The second in our Full Moon Hike series, this cache is meant to bring people out and away from some of the county's more travelled spots. The hike in is easy and interesting, going along some of the streams that feed the resevoir, and then on to the dam head.
The cache becomes possible due to the recent acquisition of the property by the Commonwealth of Virginia. While the dam itself is still owned by the city of Lexington; there is now a 2000 acre tract surrounding the dam that has become "Moore's Creek State Forest". Take your time to explore the area, enjoy the views, the resevoir, and everything the new state forest has to offer.
Initial contents include a new trackable, a first to find surprise, and several Dollar Store tradables.
