Un’escursione a Malga Tuff è particolarmente adatta a famiglie con bambini. Il sentiero principale sembra quasi un’autostrada, non è particolarmente impegnativo ed è percorribile anche con un passeggino possibilmente un 4x4 e un papà disponibile a spingere.

An excursion to Tuff Alm is particularly suitable for families with children. The main path looks like a highway, is not particularly challenging and it takes a stroller with possibly a 4x4 and a dad coached pushing.
Come arrivare:
Se si viene da Trento si deve poi uscire a Bolzano nord, per arrivare a Fie' Allo Sciliar (seguire waypoint di aiuto) e proseguendo fino ad indicazione laghetto di Fiè girando a destra, (vedi waypoint)alla fine della strada si può parcheggiare al costo di 3 euro tutta la giornata (vedi waypoint parcheggio).
Poi a piedi dopo 2.8 km e 40 min circa si arriva alla malga Tuff.

Directions:
If you come from Trento to Bolzano, you have to exit the north Bolzano before arriving in Fie 'Allo Sciliar (follow waypoints help) and going up to lake indication of Fiè
turning right (see waypoints) and continuing until the lake where you can park at a cost of 3 Euros for day (see parking waypoints)
From there continue on foot and 40 min after 2.8 km you will arrive in the Malga Tuff.
Alle pendici dello Sciliar e poco sopra il laghetto di Fié allo Sciliar si trova in posizione amena Malga Tuff. Il panorama che si gode da qui è molto suggestivo: lo sguardo spazia su tutte le montagne della zona occidentale della provincia di Bolzano.
Il tempo di percorrenza è di circa un’ora. In alternativa esiste un servizio di trasporto in carrozza. Chi desidera accorciare i tempi della salita può optare per un sentiero, decisamente più impegnativo, che segue la vecchia strada lastricata.
Partiamo dal parcheggio del laghetto di Fié (costo 3 Euro per l’intera giornata) e seguiamo le indicazioni molto chiare per Malga Tuff (sentiero 1). Dopo circa un chilometro il sentiero ci porta al laghetto superiore. Il paessaggio è suggestivo, con il bosco che si confonde con le acque dello specchio d’acqua. Decidiamo di fare qualche foto. Sulle rive del lago alcune radici e tronchi sono state scolpite per riprodurre forme di animali: oche, conigli, serpenti. Una trovata che ritroveremo lungo il resto dell’itinerario.
Riprendiamo il cammino. Dopo poche centinaia di metri arriviamo ad un bivio dove possiamo scegliere come proseguire verso Malga Tuff. A sinistra si procede lungo il percorso più comodo (adatto ai passeggini), mentre a destra parte il sentiero più ripido ma più rapido. Optiamo per questa variante e cominciamo ad inerpicarci lungo il sentiero nel bosco. La salita è decisamente ripida, anche se non presenta particolari difficoltà. Per fortuna gli alberi filtrano il caldo sole di agosto. Il fresco del bosco ci aiuta a salire senza grossi patemi. Dopo circa 40 minuti di cammino il bosco si dirada e arriviamo a Malga Tuff, immersa nel verde di uno spiazzo in mezzo al bosco.
La costruzione è molto piacevole e caratteristica. Come dicevamo all’inizio il panorama è suggestivo. Per la gioia dei bambini è stato allestito un piccolo zoo con alcuni animali: asini, pecore, arieti. La vera attrazione della malga è un tenero lama che si riposa tra i tavoli dei turisti.
La malga offre i classici piatti della tradizione sudtirolese. In questa occasione optiamo per il classico Kaiserschmarrn e per canederli in brodo. Per dissetarci ordiniamo un succo di sambuco e un succo di lampone. La qualità ci sembra decisamente buona. I prezzi sono leggermente più alti che in altre malghe o rifugi. Unica nota veramente negativa il cappuccino: 1,90 Euro ci sembra veramente un prezzo troppo elevato. Anche se prendere un cappuccino in malga suona un po’ strano ….
Per il ritorno decidiamo di seguire il percorso più lungo, ma più panoramico. Dopo circa 50 minuti ritorniamo al parcheggio. Ricordo che al parcheggio si trova anche un centro informazioni sul parco naturale Sciliar – Catinaccio di cui il lago di Fié e malga Tuff fanno parte. Qui trovate cartine, materiale informativo e potete ascoltare i versi dei principali uccelli della zona.
In conclusione: un’escursione molto piacevole, molto adatta a famiglie con bambini anche piccoli.

At the foot of the Sciliar and just above the pond Völs Sciliar is situated in a pleasant Tuff Alm. The panorama from here is very impressive: you can see over all the mountains of the western province of Bolzano.
An excursion to Tuff Alm is particularly suitable for families with children. The main path looks like a highway, is not particularly challenging and it takes even with a stroller. travel time is about an hour. Recently a new transport service in a carriage. Those who want to shorten the time of ascent can opt for a path, much more challenging, which follows the old road paved.
We start from the parking lot of the lake Fié (cost 3 euros for the whole day) and follow the directions very clear Tuff Alm (path 1). After about a mile the trail leads to the upper lake. The landscape is impressive, with the forest that mingles with the waters of the lake. We decide to take some pictures. On the banks of the lake some roots and trunks have been carved to reproduce the shapes of animals: geese, rabbits, snakes. One found that are found along the rest of the itinerary.
We continue the journey. After a few hundred meters, we come to a crossroads where we can choose how to proceed towards Tuff Alm. To the left and continue along the path more comfortable (suitable for strollers), while the right part of the trail steeper but faster. We opt for this variant and begin to climb along the trail in the woods. The climb is quite steep, though not particularly difficult. Fortunately the trees filter the hot August sun. The coolness of the forest helps us to rise with no major worries. After about 40 minutes walk to the forest thins out and arrive at Tuff Alm, nestled in a clearing in the woods.
The construction is very cozy and unique. As we said at first the landscape is charming. To the delight of the children was set up a small zoo with some animals: donkeys, sheep, rams. The real attraction of the hut is a soft blade that rests between the tables of tourists.
The hut offers classic South Tyrolean dishes. On this occasion, we opt for the classic Kaiserschmarrn and dumplings in soup. To order a quench our thirst elderberry juice and raspberry juice. The quality seems pretty good. The prices are slightly higher than in huts or other shelters. The only really bad note cappuccino: 1.90 Euros seems really too high a price. Even if you have a cappuccino in a hut sounds a bit 'strange ....
For the return we decide to follow the longest path, but more scenic. After about 50 minutes back to the parking lot. I remember the car park is also an information center on the park Schlern - Rosengarten of which the lake and alpine Fié Tuff part. Here you will find maps, information material, and you can listen to the verses of the main birds of the area.
In conclusion: a trip very pleasant, very suitable for families with small children also
