The cache is located just outside of the entrance to the Cloud Peak Wilderness Area in the Bighorn Mountains. Turn on Sourdough Rd., about 10 miles West of Buffalo on US Hwy 16. Drive to the very end of the road, then hike up the trail head on the right. The hike is about 20 minutes and very steep. The altitude at the cache location is about 9000'. Bring your fishing poles and good hiking boots!
Drive West from Buffalo, WY on US Hwy 16. Turn right on Sourdough Rd., approximately 10 miles west of Buffalo. Drive to where the road forks and take the right fork. Follow this road all the way to its end. Park in the clearing near the trailheads. Take the trailhead to the right. This is a very steep trail. The hike will take about 20 minutes and is fairly challenging. The cache is hidden just outside of the Cloud Peak Wilderness Area, near the sign designating the entrance. The cache is in a clear plastic Rubbermaid container with red trim and a green label. After you find the cache, keep hiking into the wilderness area. There are three natural mountain lakes in this area, so bring your fishing pole! Original contents include: log book, nail clippers, band-aids, glow light key chain, emergency blanket, first aid kit, sewing kit, poncho, tattoos, fishing lures, Wyoming stickers, pen & pencil
