Geocache Description:

Follow the name and you will not need much else. Ask the Post Mistress if you need any other information on the area, and feel free to say hi to her.

Port Mouton was one of the first areas landed by Sir Samuel Champlain. It was named after several sheep had supposedly jumped overboard, hence the name Mouton, french for sheep.
Champlain was a very prolific explorer and cartographer and many of his maps remain to this day.
From this area you are very close to some of the nicest beaches imaginable and some fine ocean kayaking and sailing.
