Geocache Description:

Rina is situated on a steep but sunny mountain range. It stands at an altitude of 1450 metres above sea level, at the foot of Col dla Vedla, not far from Sasso Putia and the mountain pass Passo delle Erbe. The small village with its 500 inhabitants is predominantly rural in character, but displays as well arts and crafts of local artisans. Until the 1920s Rina formed a municipality on its own, but was then merged into the municipality of Marebbe. The population of Rina speaks Ladin, just like the inhabitants of the other villages of Marebbe and Val Badia.

The village of Rina has been built in the ancient and typically alpine style, with sees all important buildings, graveyard, village inn, parsonage and school, grouped around the village church. In summer the alpine meadows over Rina are a paradise of colours. The luscious meadows and thick woods invite you to keep your eyes open not only for mushrooms, but also for the superb beauty of the surrounding valleys and mountain ranges. In winter Rina offers peace and tranquillity far away from the busy and noisy ski resorts.
