iowaPete: It is with a heavy heart that I say goodbye to this little gem. Unfortunately, the "Level B" road was converted by Jackson County into a "Level C" road. This means that access is only available to those who have property directly adjacent to it. A locked gate has been placed across both ends, which means the cache is no longer on public property.
I could've tried to ask permission, but I'm pretty sure the petitioners to convert the road were the farmers who owned the adjacent property. They wanted it for the movement of their farm machinery and nothing else.
I stopped at the gate this afternoon, and hoofed it down the road. The cache was right where I left it when I originally placed it. The area had grown up considerably since that first day, and the cache actually blended in better now, than then. The container had endured 2 hard winters and was in great shape. Just needs a new coat of paint. I'll repurpose it for another cache someday.
My thanks goes out to all who took the time to find this cache. Your log entries were very much appreciated....
