This cache has been archived.

offline.cacher: The general rule reviewers use to archive a cache is that the cache owner has been notified (through a log entry) by the reviewer and that no response has been forthcoming. This is the case with this cache. As a result it has been archived.
If the owner would like to discuss this issue, please contact me through my gmail address. Don't forget to include the GC code for the cache.

Geocache Description:

Cache is located just off a trail in Sandy Bottom Nature Park near the Wildlife Education Area which is worth the time to see. An additional GPS reading on 1 September came to N 31' 03.901 W 076'25.752. Additional readings on 7 September came to 907/752; 908/753; and 903/753, so expect some needle bounce.

Back in the early 1990s my wife and I coached cross country for Bethel and for four years we ran the team practices often in Sandy Bottom, while it was still uninproved. Often the team took a long run by themselves. I learned years later from a girl member and from the brother of a male member that in the beginning, when it was very hot they would sometimes stop and skinny dip to cool down. So this cache looks back on those days. Cache is an ammo can with various goodies. Please remember to replace the cache and it's camo as you found it. Cache placed with the permission of HPR, permit number 18. Replace cache so the permit number sticker is hidden. Please observe park hours.
Remember that should you see a canebrake rattlesnake that the snake HAS THE RIGHT OF WAY! Do report to the rangers where you encountered the snake.
